An 1890 Victorian in The Nations, brought back to life.
When we found this house, it was the most forgotten Victorian in the neighborhood. A century-old beauty on a corner lot, in the part of Nashville locals call The Nations. Original 1890 mantels, gorgeous crystal chandeliers, and show-stopping twelve-foot pocket doors with brass thumb-pulls.
"We didn't want to flip this house. We wanted to keep its soul."
The decision was easy: not to rebuild the house, but to restore all the charm and beauty of the past. The fireplace tile stayed. The pine floors stayed. We added crystal chandeliers, emerald velvet chesterfields, a brass leopard pedestal because we couldn't help ourselves, and the kind of bedding you sleep eleven hours in.
During the renovation, neighbors stopped by daily to watch the progress. Now they stop to take pictures.
